Established in 2015, the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) is a joint initiative with the mission of helping the private sector to tackle global warming while benefiting from enhanced competitiveness and sustainable economic growth.

Established by a collaboration between the WRI, WWF, the UN Global Compact and the CDP, the SBTi achieves their objectives by defining and promoting best practice in science-based target setting, providing technical assistance to companies and bringing together experts to further develop the science and application.
