Indirect greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions not included in Scope 2 GHG emissions, occur outside of the boundaries of the reporting company and that are not owned or controlled, both upstream and downstream.

Some examples are the extraction and production of purchased materials, transportation of purchased fuel, and use of sold products and services.
