Downstream Emissions

When speaking about Scope 3 or other indirect emissions, downstream emissions refer to all the emissions generated from activities happening downstream the value chain emissions of a company.

These emissions are mainly related to the retail of goods or services, and the distribution of products without retailing, for example, the emissions generated by a retailed product that directly burns fuel or the emissions generated by the waste management of a retailed product.
