Carbon Removal

Carbon removal refers to the natural and technological methods by which carbon dioxide is removed from the atmosphere and stored through various means; such as in trees, soils, reservoirs, rocks, the oceans, innovative new materials.

Reducing the current and future level of emissions is critical, with a greater rate of capture and removal of carbon dioxide to be required in order to meet the scientific targets.

As governments and public entities come together to address climate change, greater investment and research efforts are being placed in carbon removal technologies, in addition to make existing carbon capture systems more widely available.
