Carbon neutral is the adjective applied to an overall zero release of carbon to the environment, often made possible by carbon offsetting and plans to reduce emissions.

It is an adjective that states that an individual, institution, company, organisation etc. has reduced and avoided the maximum carbon emissions that its activity has generated and that the remaining emissions that can not be reduced have been compensated through carbon offsets.
