Tipping Points

In Climate science, a tipping point is a critical threshold passed which a system reorganises, often abruptly and/or irreversibly. If these tipping points are crossed, humanity risks facing severe impacts that would change the way we live.

At today’s global warming levels, tipping points are possible, and if the rate of global warming is not slowed, they will be highly likely passed 2ºC. Developing countries and vulnerable communities will most likely be the most impacted by the crossing of tipping points.
